Snark: to annoy or irritate

"Snark" has been in English language dictionaries since at least 1906, and Lewis Carroll used the word to describe a mythological animal in his poem, The Hunting of the Snark (1874). Most recently, the word has come to characterize snappish, sarcastic, or mean-spirited comments or actions directed at those who annoy or irritate us.

At first, this blog was just going be a place to gripe, but because it's more satisfying to take action than it is to merely complain, now most of the posts/reposts suggest ways to get involved in solving problems.

R&R: The No-Choice Team

Help us fight the deception!
Make no mistake. The Romney-Ryan ticket spells disaster for millions of women. But will enough women know before it is too late?
The Romney-Ryan ticket and their surrogates are engaging in mass deception. Here's how...
Romney-Ryan claim they are going to save Medicare and that President Obama cut $716 billion out of Medicare to pay for Obamacare.
Both statements are untrue. They just want to scare older people, especially women.
Feminist Majority is determined to get the truth out. Today we are launching a Truth Watch as a part of our Gender Gap Action Campaign to expose the Romney-Ryan ticket for what it is. We are launching a massive online campaign to set the record straight.
You can join the Truth Watch by spreading the message to your followers and friends.
Plus, we are launching our first on the ground Truth Watch in Virginia, a vitally important swing state. But we need your help to fight back.
So what did Obama actually do to Medicare? Not only did he NOT cut benefits, but his Affordable Care Act actually increases Medicare benefits. In fact, it's the Ryan budget passed by the House thatwould cut Medicare benefits and goes even further – ending Medicare for people under 55 as we know it by replacing it with a flat rate voucher (or coupon) towards buying a private health insurance policy. That simply won't work. They won't tell you - but we will - this is privatizing Medicare.
Romney says he is for birth control. Forget it. They want to give more power to fertilized eggs than women. We must constantly expose the Romney-Ryan ticket's extreme opposition to birth control and abortion access. This is the NO CHOICE team.
We must expose these Romney-Ryan deceptions and more. Women have too much at stake. We must be on the front lines, challenging and fighting back. If anyone can stop Romney-Ryan, women can.
